The Townswomen’s Guild is putting on an amateur dramatic production of a murder mystery written by Mrs Phoebe Reece, president of the Guild. The setting is the lounge of Checkmate Manor, where the family is to gather for the reading of the Will of the late Sir Reginald Bishop. However, someone else has a desire to obtain the Checkmate millions - and will stop at nothing to get them. A series of murders occur where all family members seem to have a motive and everyone is a suspect….
Who will be revealed as the monstrous, merciless murderer of Farndale Avenue….?
The play has a universal theme with strong British comedy and farce traits, but the director has chosen to ‘South Africanise’ the work, making it more accessible for a local audience.
