Sons Of Atlantis

We are Sons Of Atlantis, a new indie/alternative band hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa. The band was formed in March 2006 and we played our first gig at Ambers Music Cafe in September that year. Our sound has been compared to Belly and The Primitives, probably due to the infectious female vocals and melodies provided by bassist and singer Pippa Clegg. However, long infatuations with the likes of Weezer and The Pixies, and more recently the beat driven sounds of The Strokes have helped us create a refreshingly different sound in the South African scene. Currently we are celebrating the completion of our very first four track demo, (which you can access on this site) a self-entitled effort that tries to give the listener an idea of our range and musical focus. From this base we'll be doing as many live gigs as possible, working at getting the same Sons Of Atlantis sound in a live environment.
