The Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show will ‘wet’ your appetite for the 7th year at the Durban Marina over the May Day weekend from Friday 30 April to Sunday 2 May.
The new dates – for 2010 only - are due to the much-awaited Soccer World Cup that will be hitting our shores in June and July, over the normal Boat Show dates.
Offering all things aquatic and much more, the Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show will be showcasing some of the most affordable and luxury craft available on the market. New models will be launched and new makes will be introducing

themselves for the first time to the Durban public.
Whatever you’re interested in, be it powerboats, yachts, gadgets, radios, jetskis, diving, towcars or watertoys, you’ll find it at this year’s Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show.
Event organiser, Barry Meehan stated, “We have grown to be a five star event, of which Durban can be very proud. Great news for the show is the extension of the parking alongside Café Fish that will create ample parking right alongside the Show down at the yacht mole.”
The all new show layout will, after last year’s success, be continued in 2010 at the Durban Marina, where the organisers are hoping to

showcase even more than the incredible 150 million Rands’ worth of superb craft that were displayed last year, all in their natural habitat – on and around the water.
A brand new, exciting addition to the ever-growing Show will be the
Boat and Classic Car Auction that takes place on Sunday 2 May at 3:30pm. All boats and cars on auction will be on display for the duration of the Show.
“Classic cars, apart from a few exceptions, are those that are 25 years and older.
Not all cars that are 25 years old have become Classics, though,” states classic car guru, Alan Hogg, “they must have been a bit special; either in terms of styling, exceptional performance or technical innovation. This

encompasses vehicles from around 1895 to 1985.”
The Durban public are encouraged to come and raise their ‘paddles’ if they take a fancy to one of the beauties on display. The auction will take place at Café Fish with boats being moored in the water and cars and smaller boats being displayed in the parking lot.
Renowned South African gavel man, Chico da Silva from Johannesburg, will entertain one and all as he boosts bids on some awesome lots..
So, if you have an extra classic car that you have been itching to pass on to a new owner, then this is the perfect opportunity. Get in touch with Carla Geyser from Consolidated Auctioneers on 031 312 6841. To place a boat on the auction, please phone the Boat Show organisers, Creative Events, on 031-2669828.
The 2010 show will be bigger and better than previous years with magnificent craft on display in their natural habitat, many brand-new to

Durban boating enthusiasts, being shown by exhibitors new to the Show from around the country.
Event organiser, Barry Meehan stated, “We have grown to be a five star event, of which Durban can be very proud. Great news for the public is the extension of the parking alongside Café Fish that will create parking for up to 500 cars right alongside the Show down at the yacht mole.”
Make sure you’re at the Durban Marina over the May Day weekend to see new launches, new toys and new exhibitors at the Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show from 30 April to 2 May. The Show is open from 9;30am to 5pm.
