Sunday February 5 sees two of the hottest groups perform at the popular Old Mutual Summer Sunset concerts at Kirstenbosch. Flash Republic heads the line-up with a dance driven sound that will delight their fans.

Supporting act Foto na Dans take the stage for their last performance as a group.

Flash Republic has had huge success since the release of their debut album ‘Time Is Now’ in 2005. Fleshing out a musical vision that is only just hitting its considerable creative stride, the past six years have seen the band hone their sound that easily places them alongside similar top-drawer outfits around the globe.

The group has now expanded out of its founding core of Tamara Dey, Ryan Dent and Craig Massiv to include two scorching hot live musicians in the form of Martin Rocka on guitar and Isaac Klawansky on drums.

For opening act Foto na Dans this concert will be the last time they perform as a group. Formed when vocalist Le Roi Nel joined Theuns, Dirkie, Neil and Alex, it took seven years in and out of projects for the members to finally find the right combination. The result - a creative self-expression that has not heeded to commercial influences, finding and establishing their own new significant sound in Afrikaans. After 5 years together, 4 album releases, numerous awards and hundreds of shows the last photo of the final dance is here. Announcing that they were taking an indefinite hiatus, the members of the group insist that not one of them will cease to make music but are taking a new musical journey.

The Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts take place at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (Rhodes Avenue, Newlands, Cape Town) on Sundays from 17h00 – 19h00.
